Louis-François Cartier took over the jewelry workshop of his master craftsman Adolphe Picard in Paris in 1847. Then, the house was recognized for its know-how with a first purchase of the nobility - Princess Mathilde (niece of Napoleon) in 1856 and followed in 1859 by Empress Eugénie. A boutique finally opened in London in 1902 on the occasion of the coronation of King Edward VII of England. A pioneer in its field, Cartier made its debut in perfumery by becoming one of the first jewelry houses to offer a perfume with Must in 1981. -sellers in the history of perfumery.
